Deirdre Lennon is a Theatre Director and Drama Facilitator with her fingers in many pies. She works across multiple art forms with an emphasis on merging theatrical performance practices and art. Her directing credits include performances for the Victoria & Albert and British Museums, Institute for Contemporary Art, and Jerwood Space in London, the Collaborations Festival in Dublin and outreach performances for the Abbey and Civic Theatres.
Her three year collaboration as tart (Deirdre Lennon, Annie Brewer, Hayley Kasperzcyk) with art collective The Hut Project (http://www.thehutproject.co.uk/) has seen her create ‘performance experiments’ in galleries in Glasglow, London and Suffolk as part of their ongoing research and development. She is the co-founder of Ready Fire Aim who have hosted Art Party events at the Workmans’ Bar and Molloy & Dowling opticians.
Deirdre has a strong background in new writing and has acted as a dramaturg in many of her collaborations. In addition she has worked as a Reader and Support Worker for the Royal Court Theatre’s Young Writer’s and Critical Mass Programmes, NAYD’s Playshare programme and recently completed their facilitation training programme Artstrain.
